Hapag-Lloyd Releases Sustainability Report 2021
22. April 2022UnaBiz is allowed to acquire the French company Sigfox SA and the network operator Sigfox France following a court ruling on April 21, 2022. The acquisition secures the expansion of the global ecosystem with radio networks in over 70 countries. UnaBiz’s offering complements and expands the technology selection of global network operators.
(Toulouse/Munich) UnaBiz is acquiring Sigfox SA, the inventor of the global Sigfox 0G radio network, as well as the associated French network operator Sigfox France. The commercial court in Toulouse approved this yesterday. Sigfox SA had filed for bankruptcy protection in February and was looking for a buyer to support its long-term development and preserve jobs.
With the acquisition by UnaBiz, the continuity and expansion of Sigfox technology and the global ecosystem are secured. “UnaBiz brings extensive knowledge of the Sigfox ecosystem as a major Sigfox network operator in the Asia-Pacific region,” comments Thomas Scheibel, CEO of Heliot Europe. As one of 75 global development and integration partners, Heliot Europe operates the Internet of Things (IoT) network of Sigfox in the DACH region as well as in Slovenia and Liechtenstein. “We welcome UnaBiz as the new owner of Sigfox SA and Sigfox France. Together, we want to continue our successful growth trajectory and expand our portfolio of innovative end-to-end solutions,” Scheibel continues.
Combining Various Technologies
UnaBiz has successfully positioned itself in the market as an IoT solution provider with its own hardware and software solutions. With a strong focus on innovative solutions, the network operator, with French and Japanese roots, is open to combining various technologies.
New Opportunities for Heliot Europe
“With UnaBiz’s acquisition of Sigfox, new avenues are opening up for us at Heliot Europe to merge technologies and thereby expand our offerings. The acquisition not only ensures the preservation of the Sigfox 0G network but is also an important step forward,” believes Christian Postel, Chief Sales Officer at Heliot Europe. “We are already one of the central IoT network providers in Europe today. With the expanded portfolio, we can serve our customers even better with critical data for smart buildings, cities, and infrastructures. Additionally, we are able to close the remaining gaps in a supply chain.
