Combined Transport and Bode with New Connection from Lübeck to Halmstad
25. April 2022On April 21, the HEINLOTH corporate group – the logistic experts in Helsingborg opened another branch in Sweden. This creates a second location in Scandinavia alongside the existing HEINLOTH Sweden AB office in Trelleborg, which has been operating since 2016, managing traffic between Sweden and Germany and vice versa.
(Roth/Helsingborg) “Helsingborg is located on a strategically important route in southern Sweden and is, alongside Malmö and Trelleborg, the gateway to Scandinavia,” explains our CEO Oliver Schwemmer. “Many freight forwarding and transport companies are based here, which means there is a high level of expertise. For this reason, we have decided to establish ourselves in Helsingborg to be even more present and closer to our Swedish customers, as well as to further optimize our existing transport routes in Scandinavia.”
In the new dispatch office, an additional customer base will be built and served, complementing the current operations. Our freight forwarding business, which handles the transports, will particularly benefit from this. We have already established the necessary conditions with the recently opened logistics center in Rostock, which will serve as a transshipment warehouse to optimize traffic, as well as a cross-docking platform for export and import goods. Initially, the branch in Helsingborg will start with three employees, but it is planned to expand to ten colleagues over the next two to three years.
Increasing market presence in Sweden
With the new location, we aim to increase our presence in Sweden and thus also our proximity to our customers. Additionally, we want to drive market expansion, as Oliver Schwemmer explains: “Scandinavia is an important pillar of our corporate group. Since the opening of the office in Trelleborg in 2016, the Swedish share of total revenue in the transport sector has risen to around 35 percent.” We were already operating in Sweden with our first vehicles in the 1980s, and today nearly 300 vehicles are dispatched across traffic in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. In 2019, we also started traffic to Finland, where an additional 100 trailers are currently being dispatched.
