27. April 2022The pharmaceutical logistics company Med-X-Press GmbH from Goslar has published its first voluntarily created sustainability report. From occupational safety to photovoltaic systems to building material recycling, the company informs about extensive measures for the protection of nature and humanity. The report covers four areas.
(Goslar) Companies that meet certain criteria are required to report on their non-financial activities according to the EU Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) directive. Med-X-Press is currently not obligated to report but has nonetheless chosen to provide a report in the interest of transparent communication and as evidence of responsible action.
The present sustainability report provides an overview of relevant processes in various sectors. “With the report, we want to document our approach and make public what we do in the company and how we realize responsibility for a comprehensive understanding of the environment,” explains Lars Dörhage, managing partner of Med-X-Press.
One Third of Investments in Sustainable Projects
The report covers four areas. The chapter “Employees” presents measures for health protection, occupational safety, and professional development. Under the heading “Customers, Suppliers, and Business Partners,” Med-X-Press defines the foundations for a trusting collaboration. In connection with the challenges of climate change, the topic of “Technical Equipment and Building Facilities” takes on special significance. 33 percent of the company’s investments flow into sustainable, resource-saving projects.
Sustainable Since Its Founding
The principle of environmental compatibility has applied since the founding of Med-X-Press in 2005 and is currently reflected in the measures for the construction of a new narcotics storage facility, which has optimal energy efficiency. Essential for the anchoring of a company in the region are the social and community activities. “Social Engagement” details the social responsibility of Med-X-Press, for example, in promoting female staff or co-founding a large daycare center.
Report as a Basis for Further Strategies
“We see the first sustainability report from Med-X-Press as a basis for our further strategies and approaches for medium- and long-term corporate development, and we will gradually expand the reporting in accordance with legal requirements and our ongoing projects,” says Lars Dörhage.
