28. April 2022One of the main tasks of the BVL Federal Association for Logistics Austria is to further develop logistics as a key discipline. The flow of information and knowledge transfer form the cornerstones to sustainably boost the sector’s innovative strength. The 37th Logistics Dialogue 2022 finally offers the opportunity for personal conversations again. The flagship event of BVL Austria will take place on June 23rd and 24th after a three-year “artist-imposed break”. The new, perfect “Newtopeventlocation” for the Global Supply Chain Community is the Vienna International Airport City Space.
(Wien) “Despite, or precisely because of, these turbulent times, a dialogue through direct exchange and creative networking is more important than ever. The Corona pandemic and now the war in Europe show the vulnerability of supply chains. We will primarily discuss the measures to achieve greater resilience, the consequences thereof, and current technological developments at the 37th Logistics Dialogue 2022,” said Wolfgang Kubesch, Managing Director of BVL Austria.
Keynotes and Trade Exhibition Also Open Air
Industry experts will discuss focus topics such as “Supply Chain Fitness Now” and “Zero Emission Green Deal” with numerous visitors. The keynote panels will feature Klaus Doppler, Managing Director of Sonnentor, Gottfried Eymer, Board Member of Rail Cargo Group, Silvio Kirchmair, Board Member of Umdasch, Christoph Matschke, Board Member of Rewe International, Thomas Menitz, Managing Director of Lohmann Rauscher, and Peter Umundum, Board Member of Österreichische Post. The accompanying trade exhibition “Everything Logistics” will be expanded with exciting opportunities “Open Air”. In addition to the Austrian Armed Forces, numerous innovative companies will enrich the showcase of the logistics sector.
Network Night with Open End
The well-known and popular Network Night will feature a live performance by the ex-frontman of Hot Chocolate, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Traditionally, the Network Night Bar invites guests to linger with an open end. Federal Minister Susanne Raab will officiate the opening. The increasing importance of the discipline of logistics is also demonstrated by the presence of City Councilor Peter Hanke as the top representative of the federal capital.
New Team – New Strength
The 37th Logistics Dialogue 2022 is being shaped by a new team with new strength. At the Ordinary General Assembly of the BVL Federal Association for Logistics Austria at the end of last year, the presidency was unanimously elected. The power of women has doubled in this process. Dr. Roman Stiftner continues to serve as president in a proven manner on a voluntary basis.

From the board circle, the following have been engaged as vice presidents: Mag. Karin Tober, Editor-in-Chief of Traktuell, Mag. Markus Pistracher, formerly of Western Union, and Mag. Michael Zimmermann, Zimmermann Packaging. Freshly joining the presidency are Judith Prechtl from Boehringer Ingelheim and Mag. Harald Rossmann from Erste Group. Highly experienced, Mag. Jürgen Schrampf from Econsult Betriebsberatung and Univ.-Prof. Dr. Helmut Zsifkovits from Montanuniversität Leoben continue their voluntary work as vice presidents. As before, Treasurer DI Ernst Richter from Siemens Austria and BVL Austria Managing Director Wolfgang Kubesch form a dynamic team in the presidency circle.
Successful Digital Transformation
During the Ordinary General Assembly, a report was also presented. BVL Austria successfully navigated the Corona years 2020 and 2021. Notably, the successful digital transformation of the competence network is to be highlighted. Creatively and innovatively, the Logistics Appetizer, the monthly competence medium of the sector, was launched, with the Federal President also acting as a patron at its baptism. The BVL Austria website has undergone a comprehensive relaunch. An exclusive video loop started on a YouTube channel. Additionally, the Logistics Aperitif offers regular speed matching. Activities around social media channels are also being gradually expanded.
