With a total of eleven branches across Europe, sennder continues its strategic growth to further consolidate its network of transport companies.
(Berlin/Bucharest) Together with the existing branches of sennder in Poland and Latvia, the new location in Romania contributes to sennder’s growing market presence in Central and Eastern Europe.
With more than 90,000 drivers and 25,000 transport companies, Romania is one of the fastest-growing logistics markets in Europe and a significant gateway between Central and Eastern Europe. sennder is a pioneer in the region and is already represented with locations in Wroclaw, Poland (September 2019) and Riga, Latvia (May 2020). With its offerings to increase efficiency and transparency in road logistics, the digital freight forwarder has rapidly expanded its presence in the region.
“We are excited to announce our expansion into Romania, one of the largest logistics markets in Europe. The opening of this branch is an important step in realizing our vision of bringing logistics into a sustainable future with the help of technology – in this region. We continue to expand in Europe and create new and innovative services for transport companies and commercial shippers by enabling a more efficient and transparent road logistics in a complex and unpredictable market environment,” explains Tom Christenson, COO at sennder.
40 Employees by Year-End

He has previously held leadership positions at cargo partners, DHL Freight, and the GEFCO Group. sennder plans to expand the team in Bucharest from the current eleven employees to 40 employees by the end of the year. sennder is hiring for all areas, including HR, finance, and sales.
Bogdan-Gabriel Steliean, Senior Manager Operations, comments: “The opening of our branch in Romania is the logical next step for us to further consolidate our network of transport companies – now the largest in Europe. In a volatile market, we strengthen our position in Central and Eastern Europe by connecting additional transport companies and commercial shippers. We will be a reliable partner for transport companies and commercial shippers in Romania. They will benefit from our digital platform, which helps them address capacity shortages in the market.”
