2. June 2022
Hans-Peter Trachsler succeeds Urs Häner at Dachser Switzerland
2. June 2022The first ordinary general meeting of 2021 of Swiss Supply, the Swiss federation of all associations from logistics, supply chain, and transport, took place in the venerable harbor museum in Basel. After its founding on March 26, 2021, it was not yet possible to look back on a full calendar year. Nevertheless, the young association was already able to refer to several activities that had taken place.
(Dietikon/Basel) The setting in the Basel harbor museum could not have been more fitting for the first general meeting of a federation of all logistics associations. Swiss Supply looked back on a short year, as the association was founded on March 26, 2021. Thus, President Jörg Mathis, CEO of GS1 Switzerland, had little to report apart from the formal matters.
The association was equipped with a healthy financial foundation, so there was not much to report regarding finances either. All agenda items were approved.
Several Activities in the First Year
Managing Director Andreas König was able to report on several past and planned activities. First, a website with a comprehensive information portal was established, along with a career portal named swiss.supply.live. There were also initial appearances at events during the autumn as COVID-19 slowly declined in Switzerland.
Due to COVID-19, the remainder of the association’s first short year passed without further highlights. It was not until 2022 that the first highlights occurred. Swiss Supply participated as an exhibitor at the Logistics & Automation/EMPACK fair from March 30-31, 2022, in Bern.
Swiss Supply was also the organizer of the Swiss Logistics Days on April 21 and the Logistics Days at the Swiss Transport Museum in Lucerne from April 21-24, 2022. The latter were a great public success, and a repeat can certainly be imagined.
Education and Marketing Theme
An educational flyer was developed and published in the Swiss national languages German, French, and Italian, providing an overview of all logistics professions. Marketing activities are also planned to enhance the image of logistics.
Jörg Mathis and Andreas König emphasized at the end of the meeting that the collaboration among the various associations has developed positively in the first year.
