7. June 2022With a comprehensive exhibitor offering and high visitor turnout, LogiMAT 2022 successfully marks a fresh start into the post-Corona era. Significant business deals and cooperation agreements, as well as intensive information exchange, underscore the importance of the leading international trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management as a trade fair and communication hub.
(Munich/Stuttgart) LogiMAT 2022 concluded this afternoon in Stuttgart with stable results across all relevant trade fair metrics. With values approaching pre-Corona levels, the leading international trade fair for intralogistics seamlessly continued the successes of previous events. “A successful restart after almost 40 months of pandemic-related trade fair pause,” comments trade fair director Michael Ruchty from the event organizer EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH, Munich. “Adjusted for the pandemic-related restrictions, this result can be regarded as a continuation of the LogiMAT success story in all categories.”
Under the motto “Smart – Sustainable – Safe,” 1,571 registered exhibitors from 39 countries, including around 393 new exhibitors and 74 renowned providers from overseas, presented their current solutions, systems, and devices for reliable automation and digital transformation over the three days of the trade fair. With numerous reported product premieres and world innovations, they also set significant impulses for efficient, future-proof intralogistics processes. With an exhibition area of more than 125,000 square meters across all ten halls, the Stuttgart exhibition center was fully booked again this year.
50,000 Trade Visitors Flooded the Halls
After two and a half years of pandemic-related forced pause, 50,000 trade visitors took the opportunity to inform themselves on-site about the latest technologies and their integration into intelligent, future-proof systems and to compare them directly. At peak times, 3,000 trade visitors flowed through the turnstiles at the entrance to the exhibition halls within ten minutes on the second day of the fair.
More than a quarter of the visitors were employees of large companies with 1,000 to 9,999 employees. By industry, 58.8 percent of trade visitors belong to the industrial sector, 12.4 percent are in wholesale, and another 4.3 percent are in retail. 6.9 percent work in logistics. The majority of the professional audience (52.8%) are decision-makers for purchasing in their companies. For them, LogiMAT is considered the primary information platform for current solution offerings for efficient intralogistics. Of all trade visitors, 55.1 percent came to learn about innovations and trends, while 27.7 percent aimed to establish new business connections. The focus of interest was particularly on innovations in the product areas of conveyor and storage technology (55.8%), industrial trucks (38.3%), and, with 18.3 percent, autonomous transport vehicles (ATVs) or autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) – multiple responses were possible.
Numerous Contract Signings
36.5 percent of the professional audience also came to Stuttgart with concrete investment plans. Numerous sales agreements, business deals, and cooperation initiatives signed at LogiMAT underscore the character of LogiMAT as an information exchange, presentation and communication platform, as well as a trade fair for concrete business transactions. 5.2 percent of trade visitors awarded contracts at the fair, while 31.7 percent plan to place orders immediately after the fair. Accordingly, the feedback from exhibitors was very positive, highlighting the high level of knowledge and quality of contacts.
For their journey to LogiMAT, 38.5 percent of visitors traveled more than 300 kilometers. The high interest from international trade visitors and exhibitors has remained stable. According to figures from the independent Basel market research institute Wissler & Partner, one in five trade visitors came from abroad to Stuttgart. The international professional audience was composed of 73.8 percent from EU countries, 7.9 percent from non-EU countries, and 8.3 percent from overseas, Asia, and America.
