23. June 2022Since the beginning of the year, the international logistics provider HOYER has merged its full-service portfolio of filling station logistics and specialized gas logistics. Now, all services for the supply of European filling station networks are also available for alternative fuels such as hydrogen (H2). This supports the HOYER Group’s infrastructural transformation for the energy transition and positions it as a pioneer in intelligent inventory management of H2 fuels for filling stations.
(Hamburg) The use of green hydrogen is internationally recognized as a key factor for successful decarbonization. Environmental initiatives are particularly focused on the CO2 emissions from industry and transportation. Especially for long distances, the future use of green hydrogen is widely regarded as essential to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Accordingly, filling station operators are increasingly equipping their networks with hydrogen refueling stations. However, due to the properties of hydrogen, operators and suppliers are facing increasing safety requirements.
For Fossil and Alternative Fuels
“We have experts in both filling station supply and gas logistics. We have been operating both business areas safely and reliably for many decades,” says Richard Thompson, Commercial Director Gas & Petroleum Logistics of the HOYER Group. By linking expertise in gas handling and experience in digital, system-supported supply of filling stations, HOYER now also offers automated, forecast-based product inventory management and the corresponding supply logistics for H2. “Now we can provide operators of filling station networks with our management services for both fossil and alternative fuels. We take care of forecast-based planning and complete processing for both product types. Everything from a single source, and of course with product-specific expertise,” Thompson adds.
Intensively Trained Personnel
In Europe, the HOYER Group transports both high-pressure compressed hydrogen (Compressed Gaseous Hydrogen, GH2) and cryogenic liquid hydrogen (Liquid Hydrogen, LH2) for its customers. The use of specialized equipment and intensively trained personnel ensures reliable and safe logistics.
