Rhenus with Hybrid Towing Units for Sustainable Inland Shipping
23. June 2022With the transport platform X MOVE, ek robotics has developed a driverless transport vehicle (FTF) that is at home in both worlds of automated transport systems. As an autonomous mobile platform (AMR), X MOVE enables a quick entry into transport robotics, while as a virtually guided vehicle (AGV), X MOVE becomes part of a more complex system.
(Pressebox; Rosengarten/Nenndorf) In its new development, ek robotics, as the world’s first manufacturer, combines the key advantages of both technology worlds into a single transport platform. The X MOVE can be used either as an AGV or as an AMR. Designed as a compact platform, the X MOVE can be equipped with various load handling devices depending on customer needs and transport solutions. The world premiere X MOVE is available in three different variants: 300, 600, and 1200 – the numbers indicate the maximum payload in kilograms. At LogiMAT 2022, ek robotics presented its latest development to the public for the first time.
Ready for the Standards of the Future
The transport robot supports the VDA 5050 interface, thus meeting the standards of the future. The goal of this standard is that all driverless transport systems (FTS) within a production can be controlled via a single fleet management software, even if the vehicles come from different manufacturers.
Optimal Speed Even in Curves
Another innovation makes the X MOVE even more efficient: The faster a transport robot is to navigate through curves, the further the safety laser scanners must proactively secure the driving path. In the X MOVE, the safety laser scanner’s protective fields are dynamically activated by the safe detection of speed and steering angle information. Result: The X MOVE not only achieves its maximum speed on a straight path but also optimizes its performance in curves.
