26. June 2022“Personal exchange brings joy and is good for us – it cannot be replaced by virtual meetings,” says Prof. Thomas Wimmer, Chairman of the Board of BVL. Therefore, BVL focuses on networking and in-person exchange at the German Logistics Congress 2022.
(Berlin) The conceptual group for the congress has developed an exciting program that spans overarching geostrategic questions, the path to climate neutrality, to concrete digitalization approaches and resilient supply chains. The program is now available for download as a PDF, and registrations can also be made via the congress homepage at: www.bvl.de/dlk.
Annual Motto “Supply Chains matter!”
In the logistics business sector, it is now clear: things will not return to how they were before the current disruptions in supply chains. The consequences of the Corona pandemic may eventually be overcome, and hopefully, Putin’s terrible war of aggression will end soon. But other crises will come and bring new challenges. More resilient supply chains require radical rethinking in many processes – not least shifting from the previous priority of “cost” to the new priorities of “reliable” and “sustainable.” Key speakers from business, politics, and research will discuss how this can be achieved. They will provide insights into various fields, including mechanical engineering, IT, human resources management, wholesale and retail, defense, media, law, and of course, logistics services. The start-up scene will also be represented.
Among the speakers are Barbara Frenke, Board Member of Procurement at Porsche AG, Jürgen Knappe, retired Lieutenant General and former Commander of the NATO Joint Support and Enabling Command, Dr. Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, Klaus Buchwald, Vice President of Operations at Infineon Technologies AG, Thomas Böck, CEO of CLAAS, Dr. Thomas Hueck, Chief Economist at Robert Bosch GmbH, and Dr. Kerstin Westphal, Executive Director of the H2Global Foundation.
Prof. Thomas Wimmer: “This year’s motto ‘Supply Chains matter!’ is intentionally more outward-looking. We want to make people outside the business sector more aware that logistics is systemically relevant and secures our supply. Logistics must present itself more confidently.”
