28. June 2022Two logistics giants celebrate their 45th anniversary. The partnership between Gebrüder Weiss and Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has now lasted exactly 45 years. During a joint meeting at the Gebrüder Weiss branch in Vienna, company representatives reflect on the past and, above all, on their achievements.
(Osnabrück / Lauterach) “What connects us in the long-standing partnership with Hellmann is the high quality standard and the desire to create added value for the customer through the interplay of our competencies,” says Wolfram Senger-Weiss, Chairman of the Executive Board of Gebrüder Weiss.
“The successful development of our partnership with Gebrüder Weiss over 45 years is primarily thanks to the employees of both companies, who have shaped this cooperation through their personal and trusting collaboration at various levels,” adds Reiner Heiken, CEO of Hellmann.
Together, the two logistics service providers offer comprehensive land transport across Europe. While Gebrüder Weiss covers Austria, Switzerland, southern Germany, and most of Southeast Europe with its own locations as part of the cooperation, Hellmann serves customers in central and northern Germany, Poland, Spain, the UK, Turkey, as well as in the Baltic and other Eastern European countries.
Successful partnership since 1977
In 1977, when borders within Europe were still more impermeable, the partners initially cooperated in customs clearance at their branches. These were the beginnings of a collaboration that became increasingly close over the following decades. In 2005, they founded the System Alliance Europe (SAE), a cooperation of leading medium-sized freight forwarding companies. In 2008, both companies then expanded their partnership to Germany and numerous Central and Eastern European countries. Since then, customers have been able to rely on daily transport connections between these regions. The foundation for a 50-year golden anniversary is stronger than ever.
