Rail Acceleration Commission in Germany Meets for the First Time
29. June 2022With the new scalable A Series from Hyster, companies can easily tailor forklifts to specific industry and application requirements. The forklifts can be configured according to A+ Logic with a range of features for material handling across various industries. At the same time, they meet expectations for low total operating costs.
(Frimley/Frankfurt) “When handling construction materials, forklifts often operate in dirty or dusty outdoor areas with poor ground conditions,” says Robert O’Donoghue, VP Marketing and Solutions EMEA at Hyster. “The A+ Logic concept offers several features that can be adjusted to optimally support forklifts from concrete manufacturing to the handling of bricks and blocks.” Dust can lead to wear on parts and components. To combat this issue, the electrical connections of the A Series from Hyster are sealed. Additionally, for some applications, the selection of oil-bath disc brakes, tilt cylinder protection caps, and fenders provides further support. A high-performance air intake can further reduce necessary maintenance.
In applications with debris, a load-dependent cooling system with a reversible fan blows particles out of the engine compartment. This minimizes the cleaning effort for the radiator and engine compartment. For debris lying on the ground, an optional shield for the engine and a side cutter optimize operating times. In regulated EMEA markets, Hyster offers a standard warranty of 2 years/4,000 hours for the A Series forklifts. This ensures safety even in challenging applications.
Optimized Driver Awareness in Metal Handling
“In the case of finished metal goods, forklifts primarily operate indoors in production and storage,” says Robert O’Donoghue. “In this environment, noise and other distractions can pose a risk, especially when pedestrians are nearby the forklift.” For such applications, the A Series forklifts can optionally be built with safety features that support driver awareness. Options include blue and red spotlights, red pedestrian warning lights, and/or an optical alarm that alerts passersby that they are approaching a moving or working forklift.
The A Series from Hyster also excels with excellent all-around visibility, providing the operator with a clear overview of the surroundings. The new mast design ensures visibility through the mast and improves environmental awareness. Configurations with a cabin can benefit from a roof made of high-strength composite glass for an unobstructed view upwards. Mirror and camera options can assist with individual requirements. The mast construction allows for excellent visibility of the fork tips during load handling. Additionally, a fork positioning aid with laser visibility can further enhance productivity.
Driver Comfort in Wood Distribution Centers
Wood storage and handling centers typically involve many inbound and outbound movements. This includes, for example, unloading a trailer in a yard and transporting the load inside or moving the load from one building to another across the yard or an outdoor area. “Those in the wood industry looking to maximize driver comfort can equip the forklift with a suitable cabin option for hot or cold climates. A weatherproof cabin can provide comfort in colder or wet environments, allowing drivers to remain productive,” says O’Donoghue.
Cabin options include front, roof, and rear windows, windshield wipers, and steel side doors, as well as heating, air conditioning, or heated windows. Sun visors are also available in the “A+ Logic” configuration. In many applications, the A Series forklifts support environmental goals with reduced emissions at lower costs. The H2.0-3.5A diesel forklifts consume up to 13 percent less diesel fuel than models from leading competitors. LPG forklifts require up to 9 percent less fuel.
