Arvato Supply Chain Expands Industrial Center in Dorsten
26. July 2022Major construction site on schedule: GREIWING logistics for you GmbH is expanding its location in Worms by two additional logistics halls with a total of 7,150 square meters. This move responds to the significantly increased order volume in recent years. The number of pallet spaces will more than double from the current 8,300 to 19,800.
(Greven/Worms) The same applies to the number of employees, which will rise to over 80 upon commissioning. A photovoltaic system and comprehensive LED lighting will also address modern energy management aspects during the site expansion. Completion is planned for the end of 2022.
“In such a construction project, everything must happen hand in hand, and the trades must be optimally coordinated. All involved partners have worked excellently together so far and have engaged in solving all uncertainties. Therefore, we are very pleased that our expansion is fully on schedule,” says Jürgen Greiwing, Managing Partner of GREIWING logistics for you GmbH.
Photovoltaic system installed
In recent weeks, the facades of the two new logistics halls have been completed, and a photovoltaic system has been installed. Since the end of May, craftsmen have been working on the installation of heating, sanitary, and ventilation systems. For energy-saving lighting, only LEDs are being used, and the offices are heated using an air heat pump. “It was particularly important for us to implement more than the legally required standards in terms of energy savings in our construction project,” emphasizes Greiwing. Currently, the shelves for the pallet spaces in the two halls are being assembled.
32-meter high filling tower
The Greven logistics specialist is nearly doubling its hall capacity in Worms to 15,450 square meters. Three filling silos with a capacity of 120 cubic meters each and a 32-meter high filling tower will also be located on the site. Additionally, two silage halls will be installed, through which material from bags and big bags can be transferred into silo trailers.
