First Results of a Study on the Driver Shortage in Logistics
31. July 2022The largest German general cargo cooperation announces an expansion at the top of the company. As of November 1, 2022, Tim Bittner (47) will join the existing managing director Michael Bargl as a member of the IDS management board.
(Kleinostheim) Due to the strong growth of the general cargo cooperation in recent years and the steadily increasing tasks, two recognized experts in the transport business, Michael Bargl and Tim Bittner, will lead IDS Logistik GmbH in the future. “I look forward to working with Tim Bittner, who will certainly advance IDS with his extensive expertise and long experience in the transport sector. With his support, especially in the operational area, we will significantly strengthen our general cargo network,” says Michael Bargl.
Tim Bittner has learned the transport business from the ground up. After several years of practical experience in the transport sector and a degree in business administration with a focus on freight forwarding, transport, and logistics, Bittner has held various positions, including at Dachser and Schenker. Here, he was particularly responsible for projects related to infrastructure development, digitization, and process optimization.
Michael Bargl, by the way, is only the second managing director in the 40-year history of the cooperation, having joined IDS in 2000. He will now serve as the spokesperson for the management.
