(St. Gallen/Rorschach) On September 27, 2022, it’s that time again; the Supply Chain Innovation Day opens its doors. In the beautiful location “Würth House” in Rorschach, Switzerland, right on the shores of Lake Constance, experts from logistics and supply chain will meet again.
Theme: “Supply Chains Under Constant Strain – Mastering Disruptions with Innovations”
The theme of the day fits the current times, and the entire program aims to provide answers and solutions for these challenging times, including: How do you deal with bottlenecks and limited capacities in the supply chain, such as in deep-sea shipping and its hinterland connections?
How can one address volatility and ensure supply despite disrupted supply chains? How can companies achieve greater resilience in the supply chain in the medium to long term?
And in light of climate protection: What role can hydrogen play as an energy source in industrial and road freight transport? We will discuss with you at the Supply Chain Innovation Day how innovations can help meet these challenges.
A Diverse Program Awaits Participants
In addition to the keynote speakers Nils Haupt, Senior Director Corporate Communications, Hapag-Lloyd AG; Ingo Steinkrüger, Chief Executive Officer, Interroll Group; and Robert Heinzer, Chief Human Resource Officer, Victorinox AG, many other experts will speak to the participants.
The CEOs of Ultra Brag, the Swiss Rhine Ports, Rhenus Switzerland, and bayernhafen will discuss hinterland transport with a focus on inland shipping. The parallel session will address the management of supply chains in times of increasing volatility. Representatives from Jungheinrich, Shipsta, Heraeus, and BTK will participate in this discussion.
Again focusing on hinterland transport, but this time with an emphasis on rail, the CEOs of SBB Cargo, BLS Cargo, and Hupac will share their insights. Another session will delve into the topic of resilience in supply chains, featuring representatives from ABB, everstream, michels.pmks, and riskmethods.
In the Solutions Arena, the companies Trailer Dynamics and xpack green logistics will present themselves. Both recently won the Eco Performance Award in the categories Start-ups (Trailer Dynamics) and Performer of the Year. Both companies will showcase not only ideas but also already implemented concepts that significantly contribute to climate savings goals.
Energy Crisis Offers Opportunities. Representatives from Migros, e-on, and hylane will discuss this topic, particularly focusing on hydrogen and the experiences associated with it.
In a special block, various start-ups will also present their diverse and different solutions across all facets of logistics and supply chain.
The program will be led by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Stölzle and Prof. Dr. Erik Hofmann, both from the Institute for Supply Chain at the University of St. Gallen. Other moderators include Ralf Mock, Partner at Meyer & Söhne GmbH, and Prof. assoc. Dr. Christian Abegglen, President of the St. Gallen Consulting Institute.
