Arvato Supply Chain Completes Expansion for H&M in Stryków
11. August 2022Lufthansa Cargo is expanding its long-haul network in the winter flight schedule 2022-2023 with additional flights to highly demanded destinations as well as a new destination. Starting at the end of August, Lufthansa Cargo will market additional capacities with the commissioning of another Boeing freighter of the type 777F. Another Airbus A321F will complement the medium-haul offering starting in October.
(Frankfurt/Main) Related adjustments and expansions of Lufthansa Cargo’s flight schedule on short and medium-haul routes are currently still in planning.
The current winter flight schedule 2022-2023 of Lufthansa Cargo consists of a total of 78 weekly Boeing 777F freighter connections. On Asian routes alone, customers have 38 weekly connections to attractive destinations to choose from. New to the program is the destination Hanoi (HAN). Hanoi will be served from Frankfurt via Mumbai (BOM) twice a week starting in early November. Lufthansa Cargo already operates twice a week from Frankfurt via Bangkok (BKK) to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), thus doubling the freight airline’s presence in Vietnam. In addition, the service from Frankfurt via Kansai (KIX) to Seoul (ICN) will be increased from three to four weekly flights. The frequency to Hong Kong (HKG), China, will also be increased from four to five weekly flights.
Additional Frequencies Between Europe and North America
Additional frequencies will also be offered on the future 34 weekly freighter rotations between Europe and North America: The service from Frankfurt to Mexico City (MEX) will be expanded from five to six and to Chicago (ORD) from seven to eight flights per week.
Lufthansa Cargo will maintain its established four weekly routings to South America and two weekly connections within Europe with the B777F to Tel Aviv (TLV) and Cairo (CAI) unchanged in the winter flight schedule.
“We are observing strong demand for our product towards North America as well as into the economically strong Asia. Particularly Vietnam is a clear growth market, and I am very pleased that we are establishing a new station there and can thus offer our customers an attractive option for high-quality freight transport to this region,” said Ashwin Bhat, Board Member for Product and Sales at Lufthansa Cargo.
Consolidation Capacities on 6,000 Flights
The current winter flight schedule will come into effect on October 30, 2022. In addition to the freighter offering consisting of eleven Boeing 777F from Lufthansa Cargo and five aircraft of the same type from AeroLogic, Lufthansa Cargo also markets the consolidation capacities of over 6,000 weekly flights from Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings Discover, and SunExpress.
