13. September 2022Small electronic data loggers are used for monitoring the transport of freight, with particularly high safety requirements placed on the monitoring of air cargo. The loggers from MSR Electronics GmbH meet all these specifications and are therefore ‘air cargo approved’.
(Seuzach) MSR transport data loggers are used to monitor the transport and storage of sensitive or particularly valuable goods of all kinds. With their high-precision sensors, very high storage capacity, and extremely compact format, they are ideally suited for the seamless capture and legally valid documentation of critical transport events such as shocks, impacts, as well as unacceptable temperature or humidity loads. Even extensive long-term monitoring is easily possible; the evaluation is carried out using informative PC software.
Due to stricter aviation safety conditions, the MSR data loggers have also been retested by several major airlines in a rigorous testing procedure according to international standards. This is because the data loggers contain lithium-polymer batteries and therefore must meet certain requirements of the IATA (International Air Transport Association) for the transport monitoring of air cargo. The loggers, and specifically their batteries, had to pass stringent mechanical and electrical tests regarding functionality, reliability, electromagnetic compatibility, prevention of external damage, and inherent safety.
The MSR transport loggers have recently passed all safety tests of Lufthansa Cargo and other major airlines such as Austrian, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, and Japan Airlines successfully and therefore continue to carry the designation ‘air cargo approved’.
