MSR Data Loggers for Transport and Logistics ‘Air Cargo Approved’
13. September 2022The Alfred Schuon GmbH has opened a new logistics location as of September 1st of this year. From now on, the family-owned company from Haiterbach will also provide logistics services in Pfullendorf, Baden-Württemberg. The newly opened hall offers around 15,000 square meters of space, making it the second largest location of the logistics specialist in terms of area. The expansion became necessary due to a new order from the automotive industry.
(Haiterbach) “The new location offers optimal conditions for our projects, not least due to its size. Now we are also represented in a new, economically strong region that offers great potential,” says Alexander Schuon, Managing Director of Alfred Schuon GmbH.
The commissioning of the area is related to a new order that will be processed at the Schuon location in Empfingen starting next year. To create the necessary space there, all stored goods are currently being relocated to Pfullendorf, which, with around 15,000 square meters, is now the second largest location of the logistics specialist in terms of area.
Following the relocation, extensive renovation and expansion work will take place in Empfingen in preparation for the new order. Among other things, new shelves will be installed, fire protection technology will be adapted, and new energy-efficient lighting will be installed. In addition, all offices will be fundamentally modernized and brought up to the latest technical standards. In the coming months, the staff at the location will also be increased to assemble a strong team for the new order. A total of around 40 employees are planned for the Empfingen location. Accordingly, the logistics provider is also looking for additional skilled personnel.
With the new property in Pfullendorf, Baden-Württemberg, the branch network of Alfred Schuon GmbH grows from eleven to twelve locations. This also aims at further expanding its contract logistics. “In addition to the transport and forwarding sector, this division has developed very positively in recent years and already contributed around 20 percent to our total sales last year. We want to continue on this path,” says Schuon.
