Geis Group Inaugurates Second Logistics Center in Gochsheim
15. September 2022Sievert Logistik SE has a new leadership: Since September 1, 2022, Karsten Bley has been responsible for the business of the Westphalian logistics service provider. Under the new leadership, the subsidiary of Osnabrück-based Sievert SE aims to be positioned for the future. This includes both the expansion of contract logistics and waste disposal in the silo sector, as well as the digitization of business processes.
(Lengerich) Since March of this year, Bley had shared the management with Rui Macedo, who left the company at his own request on August 31, 2022.
“The logistics industry faces significant challenges both nationally and internationally. To address these optimally, we are restructuring ourselves with Karsten Bley in the best possible way,” says Jens Günther, CEO of Sievert SE. The goal is to become best-in-class in building materials logistics, with fully digitized processes. “With Karsten, we have brought on board an experienced expert to meet our own standards as well as customer needs,” Günther adds.
“Sievert is an incredibly innovative company and very quick to implement customer-specific requirements. I want to build on that and further develop Sievert Logistik together with the team,” says Karsten Bley, Managing Director of Sievert Logistik. Bley is well-versed on both the shipper’s and the service provider’s side. The 50-year-old brings many years of professional experience as a leader in supply chain, transport logistics, and contract logistics in the international industry. He has also served as managing director in market-leading logistics companies in the field of palletized and bulk goods as well as silo operations. “I look forward to the exciting challenge of positioning Sievert Logistik for the future and setting our own impulses – particularly regarding the topics of digitization and the development of new business models.”
Focus on Digitization and Skilled Labor Shortage
Bley pays special attention to the topics of digitization and the skilled labor shortage: “One of my first tasks is to create a digital working environment and to inspire skilled workers for Sievert Logistik.” In addition, he relies on a modern vehicle fleet, regional presence through a multitude of locations, short decision-making paths with direct responsibilities, and high quality standards to remain a reliable and consistent partner for customers. Bley reports directly to the CEO of Sievert SE, Jens Günther.
