10. October 2022The Swiss Post shares something in common with FC Bayern Munich; it is a serial winner. For the sixth time, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) has named the world’s best postal companies, and for the sixth consecutive time, the Swiss Post has won this title. The evaluation is based on various quality criteria.
(Bern) The Universal Postal Union (UPU) has carefully assessed postal companies worldwide based on various quality criteria and created a ranking. Although the organization has established new measurement methods and criteria, the result remains the same: the Swiss Post achieves the highest score. This achievement is only possible thanks to the daily commitment and dedication of our employees. They are the face and heart of the world’s best post.
On October 9, it is World Post Day. Since 1969, the UPU, founded in 1874, has celebrated international cooperation among all postal organizations worldwide on this day. For six years, the UPU has also recognized the best postal companies globally. This year, the organization evaluated postal companies and assessed them in ten categories based on established criteria. In its Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD), a study on the development status of postal organizations around the globe, the UPU publishes the results.
Scoring High on Quality
The Integrated Index for Postal Development of the UPU assesses postal organizations from 172 countries based on their performance in reliability, reach, relevance, and resilience. The Swiss Post has scored particularly well in recent years, especially due to the high quality of its services, its diversification, and its central importance to the country. The Post connects people and businesses in Switzerland with all its services. It does this by offering the same prices in every region and locality in Switzerland. The current strategy prepares the Post for a future that is becoming increasingly digital. Throughout this process, the Post always focuses on its core business. The needs of people and businesses in Switzerland—whether physical or digital—are always at the center.
In 2022, the Swiss Post, along with five other postal organizations, ranks at the top of the highest category “Postal Excellence.” Among the six postal organizations in the highest “Level 10,” the Swiss Post again has the highest score—marking the sixth consecutive time.
A Merit of the Employees
The very good result of the study once again pleases the CEO of the Post, Roberto Cirillo. “I am very pleased with the award. However, I am especially happy because the tireless commitment and daily work of our employees are being recognized. Whether in the post offices, in the parcel and letter centers, delivering in all weather conditions, or with great effort for our digital services: it is our employees who deserve this award,” says Roberto Cirillo. The Post is not just a shell made of concrete or technology. “The true value lies in our employees. They are the heart and face of the Post. We, the management, are grateful every day for their tireless efforts. Our task is to create the conditions for our employees so that we can continue to be the best post in the world.”
