WP Spedition acquires parts of the Hänsel und Gretel logistics company
14. October 2022Contargo Industriepark Frankfurt-Höchst GmbH, a joint venture of Contargo and Infraserv Logistics, will significantly expand the container terminal in the Höchst Industrial Park. In this context, the contract term has been extended until at least 2042.
(Frankfurt/Main) Since 2004, Contargo has been providing container services in the Höchst Industrial Park in Frankfurt am Main. This year, the expansion of the terminal is set to begin, as the current capacities have been exhausted.
“As a provider of location-based services, it is part of our understanding to provide our customers with good access to the seaports. With Contargo, we have a partner who reliably fulfills this task. This allows companies in the Höchst Industrial Park to focus on their core competencies while Contargo takes care of all transport-related services around the containers,” says Jürgen Vormann, Chairman of the Management Board of Infraserv GmbH & Co. Höchst KG.
Terminal Expansion Planned
“The terminal expansion is accompanied by an extension of our contract with Infraserv Höchst, thus securing the operation of Contargo Industriepark Frankfurt-Höchst GmbH in the industrial park for at least the next 20 years. The funding notice is in place, so construction work can begin later this year,” says Kawus Khederzadeh, Managing Director of Contargo Industriepark Frankfurt-Höchst GmbH.
The terminal will be expanded by approximately 10,000 square meters. Additional truck parking spaces will be created, including charging infrastructure for electric trucks. The completion of the terminal expansion, which also includes the construction of an additional container crane on the water side, is expected by the end of 2023/beginning of 2024.
