Log-hub and Pledge Create More Transparency in Supply Chains
21. October 2022Ralf Heersma-Plattner (51) was appointed as the new Managing Director of Transport and Freight Forwarding at Grieshaber Logistik GmbH effective September 1, 2022. This move continues the company’s consistent growth trajectory, having reached the revenue mark of 100 million euros for the first time last year.
(Weingarten) Heersma-Plattner began his professional career in the region: he completed an apprenticeship as a freight forwarding merchant at C.E Noerpel GmbH in Ravensburg, where he quickly took on responsibility – most recently as the head of freight forwarding. The transportation specialist then held leadership positions at large international freight forwarders such as Dachser, Andreas Schmid, and Hellmann at various locations in Germany and is now returning to his home region.
Return to the Home Region
“I am looking forward to advancing the Transport and Freight Forwarding business area at Grieshaber with my many years of experience,” emphasizes the logistics manager. The extensive service portfolio includes land transport with a powerful in-house fleet as well as sea and air freight. This growth strategy will continue to receive significant investment: in addition to a new transport management system, a new breakbulk hall is set to be put into operation in the fourth quarter at the Weingarten location. “This will strengthen our strong market position in the Lake Constance-Upper Swabia region,” confirms the managing director. At the same time, Grieshaber is also active nationwide as a logistics service provider alongside its other freight forwarding locations in Kerpen, Mettmann, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg, supporting its customers.
Management Team Complete
With Heersma-Plattner, the company’s management team is now complete: Roland Futterer (61) continues to be responsible for finance, personnel, and services; Gregor Schnell (42) remains in charge of logistics and supply chain management.
