27. November 2022Starting January 1, 2023, Felix Toepsch will take over the leadership of the Air Cargo Community Frankfurt. He succeeds the previous Managing Director Joachim von Winning, who is returning to Fraport for a new role in Business Development. Grit Engelbart will remain in office as Co-Managing Director.
(Frankfurt/Main) The Air Cargo Community Frankfurt (ACCF) welcomes Felix Toepsch as its new Managing Director. He will follow Joachim von Winning, who has held this position since 2015, starting January 1, 2023. Felix Toepsch will be seconded to the management as a Fraport employee. The trained economist will work alongside Grit Engelbart (LH Cargo), who remains Co-Managing Director.
Joachim von Winning will take on a new role within Fraport’s cargo division in Business Development and will drive the further expansion of air freight growth. “I have achieved my goal of establishing the community at the location and positioning it as a collective. After seven years, it is time for a new professional challenge,” explains von Winning.
The ACCF management took over from Joachim von Winning two years after the association was founded and placed a strong emphasis on the idea of networking. “It is his merit that the members of the community support each other today, even though they are partly in competition with one another,” says Henning Dieter, Chairman of the Air Cargo Community. “This cooperation has made joint projects, as realized in recent years from the community, possible and has increased the attractiveness of our location. The Air Cargo Conference, the annual industry meeting in Frankfurt, has been developed by von Winning into a successful and recognized event,” Dieter adds.
Experience from Innovation and Digitalization Initiatives
Felix Toepsch, who has been with Fraport since 2013, will bring his extensive experience from innovation and digitalization initiatives to the Air Cargo Community. In his current role, he is advancing projects focused on Urban Air Mobility and business process development. He is also active in national and European association work beyond Fraport.
The new Managing Director will continue and further emphasize the projects of the Air Cargo Community. The networking idea of the ACCF and specialized events, such as the Air Cargo Conference, will be pursued further. “In addition, we want to identify and tackle strategic future topics together with the members. This includes sustainability, the recruitment of skilled workers, and the development of efficient processes among air freight partners,” says Felix Toepsch.
The Cargo Industry Needs Innovative Solutions
For Dr. Pierre Dominique Prümm, Board Member for Aviation and Infrastructure at Fraport and member of the ACCF Board, the renewed secondment of a Fraport employee is a sign that the company stands by its commitment. “Many challenges in the cargo industry require innovative solutions, and digitalization is becoming increasingly important. With Felix Toepsch, the community gains the right partner to further develop the location together with all members and to position it strongly for the future.”
