13. December 2022The world-renowned provider of lighting products and fixtures, Ledvance, has entrusted part of its European warehousing to the internationally active full-service provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics. In addition to the central Ledvance warehouse in Molsheim, France, Hellmann has been supplying the European market with the comprehensive portfolio of fixtures and lighting products from Ledvance from warehouse locations in Spain and Poland since the fall of this year.
(Osnabrück / Munich) While Ledvance continues to operate its inventory warehouse in Molsheim independently, primarily serving the Central European markets, Hellmann Contract Logistics has opened a distribution center in Borox, Spain, to supply Spain and Portugal. Additionally, another warehouse location is being established in Wroclaw, Poland, from which the trade in the Nordic countries as well as in Eastern and parts of Western Europe will be supplied. This reduces the distance to customers by 1 million kilometers driven annually, which not only shortens delivery times but also saves significant amounts of CO2.
The new 20,000 m2 campus in Poland will be operated exclusively by Hellmann for Ledvance and is expected to be fully operational by the end of February 2023. The goal is to realize both pallet and individual order picking to supply supermarkets, DIY stores, and wholesale quickly and efficiently from Wroclaw.
“We were looking for a logistics service provider that could support us as a long-term partner in the further development and implementation of our performance-oriented and future-proof sales and logistics network in Europe. Hellmann convinced us with a state-of-the-art concept that meets all our requirements for modern warehousing. The collaboration represents an important addition to our team in Molsheim and allows us to respond flexibly and agilely to the constantly changing market demands in the area of operations. Moreover, our long-standing corporate tradition, in which sustainable innovation development has always been of central importance to both sides, connects us as partners on equal footing,” said Gareth Jackson, COO of Ledvance.
“We are looking forward to implementing our innovative concept for Ledvance across Europe. Both in Spain and Poland, we have been established as a full-service provider for many years and can rely on a strong team. In the new warehouse in Wroclaw alone, we are hiring around 80 new employees, thus contributing to our growth strategy in the area of contract logistics,” said Volker Sauerborn, COO Global Contract Logistics, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.
