Schneider Acquires Global Freight Connections in England
31. January 2023
Bertschi continues to grow and invest in sustainable chemical logistics
31. January 2023Hapag-Lloyd concluded the fiscal year 2022 – the year of its 175th anniversary – with preliminary figures showing an EBITDA of 20.5 billion US dollars (19.4 billion euros). EBIT grew to 18.5 billion US dollars (17.5 billion euros). This was significantly driven by higher freight rates. At the same time, disruptions in global supply chains and inflation led to a substantial increase in overall costs.
The revenues increased to 36.4 billion US dollars (34.5 billion euros), particularly due to a rise in the average freight rate to 2,863 USD/TEU (2021: 2,003 USD/TEU). However, by the end of the year, the freight rate had already decreased significantly due to easing congestion and lower demand. The transport volume for the entire year 2022 remained at 11.8 million TEU, on par with the previous year (2021: 11.9 million TEU).
The annual report and the audited financial figures for the year 2022, as well as an outlook for the current fiscal year, will be published at the virtual balance press conference on March 2, 2023.
