4. March 2023With Amazon, the Port of Trier, and VDO Fleet, Logistics Day on April 20, 2023, is once again supported by renowned companies from the logistics sector. Oliver Luksic has also been won as the patron. The Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport has been the Federal Government’s Coordinator for Freight Transport and Logistics since early 2022.
(Frankfurt a.M./Munich) As a Europe-wide action day, Logistics Day has always been supported by numerous organizers and well-known partners from Germany’s third-largest economic sector. This year, the globally operating online retailer Amazon, the Port of Trier, and VDO, a brand of the global technology company and leading automotive supplier Continental, are engaging with a premium partnership. Together with the already over 80 registered events, they aim to highlight the performance and diversity of the logistics sector on this action day.
“Amazon has been actively participating in Logistics Day with its own events for many years because this economic sector and the people in it deserve this attention,” explains Andreas Marschner, Vice President Amazon Transportation Service. “Logistics Day opens our eyes to all the exciting people, careers, and technologies that are indispensable for our daily lives.”
The active participation of representatives from the premium partners at the Logistics Lunch, the central event format of Logistics Day, is planned. The Logistics Lunch will take place at the House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) in Frankfurt a.M. and can be followed live on the internet. This event, already established last year, has created a format that presents and discusses current developments in logistics through panel discussions and individual conversations, allowing the interested public to participate – easily via online transmission.
“On Logistics Day, a highly professional and simultaneously decentralized event is being organized to shed light on an economic sector that deserves a significantly better standing in society,” adds Patrick Schenk, Head of Fleet Solutions and Sales Service Sales in the Connected Commercial Vehicle Solutions business segment at Continental. “As experts in compliance in road transport and suppliers of transport logistics, we are very happy to support Logistics Day with our brand VDO Fleet and are proud to be part of the logistics family.”
In addition to the premium partners, Oliver Luksic, Parliamentary State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV) and Coordinator of the Federal Government for Freight Transport and Logistics, has been won as the patron.
“I think it’s great that every year on Logistics Day, over a hundred companies open their doors to school classes and interested citizens to show what lies behind one of the largest economic sectors in Germany. In this way, we learn about the complex processes that influence our daily lives and literally move our country. Logistics Day also offers the opportunity to gain insights into the exciting professional world of logistics. Take the chance and look behind the scenes of the logistics industry,” appeals Oliver Luksic.
“We are very pleased to welcome Oliver Luksic this year to the ‘Port Internship’ in Trier on the occasion of Logistics Day,” comments Volker Klassen, Managing Director of the Port of Trier. “The numerous visitors who have already registered can also expect exciting insights into the daily happenings at the port, which has established itself as an important logistics location for the Greater Trier region, Eifel, Hunsrück, Saarland, and Luxembourg, ensuring the supply of around 1 million people.”
The ideological partners of the action day include, as in the previous year, the BVL – Federal Association of Logistics, the German Association of Cities and Municipalities, as well as the industry initiatives “The Economic Makers” and Logix Initiative Logistics Real Estate. New this year is the leading trade fair transport logistic, which will take place from May 9 to 12 in Munich.
On the central website www.tag-der-logistik.de, companies, universities, associations, or research institutions can register as organizers and submit their events for Logistics Day 2023 free of charge.
