THE FREIGHT RAILWAYS continue to grow: now over 100 members
23. March 2023Contract logistics for market launch: Can by can, the Cola Mix from the Rosenheim brewery Flötzinger has secured its place on the competitive shelves of retail. From day one, BTK Befrachtungs- und Transportkontor GmbH has supported the market launch with contract and transport logistics. To date, over 1.5 million of the 0.33-liter cans have left the logistics center in Raubling on demand. The collaboration continues.
(Rosenheim) In April 2020, Flötzinger first offered its Cola Mix in cans. The market launch began with a pilot project of 250,000 cans on demand for promotional spaces in retail. Meanwhile, the product has found its permanent place on the shelves of retailers nationwide, with an upward trend. The pilot project has evolved into a long-term partnership. BTK has been involved from the very beginning.
Without BTK, the project would not have been possible due to space and personnel shortages at the brewery’s headquarters. Each shipment requires at least 150 square meters of workspace, two logistics specialists, and another person for the forklift. In 30 minutes, this team packs four quarter pallets with 16 checked 24-unit containers each. These are securely wrapped in foil on a Euro pallet for dispatch.
For each promotion, BTK’s transport logistics handles between 100 and 250 ready-to-sell quarter pallets as piece goods or partial loads. The shortest lead time on demand was less than a week. On the way to the permanent assortment of renowned retailers, BTK has established a flexible and reliable supply chain in regional collaboration with Flötzinger.
Lorenz Stiglauer, Managing Director at Flötzinger: “At our location in downtown Rosenheim, we are fully utilized. Without external spaces, our product launch would not have been possible. With BTK, we have found a logistics partner with extensive experience in retail logistics, and that right in our vicinity. That is worth its weight in gold.”
Josef Heiß, Managing Director of BTK: “This is not the first time we have helped regional companies with a quick action and grown with them. At the beginning, we often provide straightforward and pragmatic start-up support. With our scalable and IT-supported processes, we then quickly develop a customer-specific solution.”
BTK supports the Flötzinger brewery as a logistics partner across several product lines. The customer belongs to the retail segment. In this area, BTK generates about 35 percent of its revenue from contract logistics and 65 percent from transport services. Key areas include hygiene papers, food, and beverages. In total, BTK achieved a revenue of 98 million euros for the first time in 2022.
