Emons Relies on Smartlane for Local Transport Dispatch
10. May 2023In line with the trade fair motto “Experience Connectivity”, TIMOCOM presents joint solutions with partners at transport logistic 2023. “As a provider of a marketplace for road freight transport, we understand the importance of a good network. And we not only offer this to our customers, but we also maintain it ourselves,” says Gunnar Gburek, Head of Business Affairs at TIMOCOM.
(Munich/Erkrath) For this reason, the IT and data specialist from Erkrath (NRW) will not only present its own solutions for road freight transport but also those developed in cooperation with partner companies. The focus is on FreightTech solutions to optimize logistical processes.
Cargo insurance for individual shipments
Together with the SCHUNCK GROUP, TIMOCOM has implemented a cargo insurance that addresses the need where it exists: in the spot market. Since December 2022, TIMOCOM customers can cover individual shipments with cargo insurance, protecting themselves against financial risks from accidents, fires, delivery delays, and damage to goods. All relevant information necessary for concluding the insurance is automatically transferred from the TIMOCOM marketplace via an interface. In addition to saving time, affordable premiums and the exclusion of underinsurance make the model particularly attractive. After concluding the insurance, the policy is provided directly as a PDF for download or via email.
“The quick and easy booking of insurance within the freight exchange is unique in Europe so far. In contrast, the demand is high: In the first five months since launch, a goods value in the double-digit millions has been insured through the freight exchange,” says Frank Heimbürger, Director Business Innovation at TIMOCOM.
Guaranteed payment within 24 hours
To strengthen liquidity for transport companies, TIMOCOM, in collaboration with JITpay™, offers a factoring service. Through this, transport service providers receive their payment within 24 hours after delivery of goods. “This service prevents insolvencies. After all, we are talking about an industry with an average payment term of 27 days and service providers who always have to pay in advance,” says Gunnar Gburek.
Simplifying processes with interfaces
Through interfaces, TIMOCOM supports its customers in optimally integrating their internal logistics processes with the required outbound logistics. Together with TRANSLOGICA GmbH, all three existing interfaces have been implemented. Among other things, the freight exchange interface ensures that transport companies can transfer their freight and loading space offers to the TIMOCOM marketplace with just one click from the transport document management system translogica. At transport logistic, TIMOCOM and TRANSLOGICA will present the potential of interfaces to increase time, cost, and process efficiency.
