FIEGE Breaks Ground for Logistics Center in Bülach/Switzerland
25. May 2023TX Logistik AG continues to invest in its own freight wagon fleet. The railway logistics company, which belongs to Mercitalia Logistics (Gruppo FS Italiane), has ordered another 115 double-pocket wagons of the T3000 type for its intermodal transports. The delivery of the first wagons is expected to take place in late summer of this year.
(Troisdorf) The modern pocket wagons are produced by the Slovak manufacturer Tatravagonka. They feature a 30-foot container suspension, quick-acting brakes, and thermally stable wheelsets of the latest generation. According to TX Logistik, the T3000 is increasingly becoming the standard wagon in intermodal transport, capable of flexibly transporting both semi-trailers and containers at a maximum speed of up to 120 kilometers per hour. Furthermore, the model is particularly well-suited for the TX transshipment system NiKRASA, which allows non-craneable semi-trailers to be easily loaded onto the rail. The recently introduced new version 3.0 no longer requires a terminal ramp, is stackable, and has been further optimized for the rail transport of mega trailers.
Own share of freight wagons at 50 percent
With the new order of T3000 wagons, TX Logistik fulfills the strategic goal of the company to increase its own share of freight wagons for intermodal transport to a consistent 50 percent. In this segment, the ongoing market demand for rail transport, driven in part by the political goal of increasing the rail freight share to 25 percent by 2030, has led to a shortage of rolling stock. By accessing its own wagon capacities, TX Logistik AG can thus respond even more flexibly to intermodal demand in its European network.
