THE FREIGHT RAILWAYS demand a long-term electricity price strategy
May 29, 2023 at 5:21 PMAfter just about nine months of construction, Hako’s new logistics center will be inaugurated on May 25, 2023, on Hamburger Straße in Bad Oldesloe. With state-of-the-art process technology and increased storage and spare parts capacity, the manufacturer of cleaning, municipal, and water jet technology is elevating its logistics to a new performance level and aims to further enhance its service quality for customers.
(Bad Oldesloe) The new building consolidates Hako’s manufacturing and spare parts logistics under one roof – with the goal of further increasing delivery speed to customers while simultaneously reducing the ecological footprint. This is achieved, on the one hand, by centralizing the entire process chain at the Bad Oldesloe location, significantly shortening transport routes and times. On the other hand, digitized and automated logistics processes, as well as a structured material flow through clear functional areas and pathways, enable even faster, smoother, and more efficient operations.
With an investment of over 20 million euros, Hako is also promoting the economic location of Bad Oldesloe, the sustainable development of the region, and particularly the satisfaction of its own employees. “The new logistics center creates many modern and ergonomic workplaces in an energy-efficient building, whose energy needs are covered by photovoltaic systems and an air-source heat pump with heat recovery. This makes a significant contribution to improving our CO2 footprint and thus to climate protection,” explains Mario Schreiber, Chairman of Hako’s management.
Small parts warehouse with 19,500 containers and nine robots
Hako’s new logistics center: With nearly 14,000 m2 of space, seven docking stations for trucks, a fully automated small parts warehouse with 19,500 containers, and nine robots, Hako is further enhancing its service quality. Following the timely completion of the logistics center’s construction on March 31, 2023, the technology has since been put into operation, and the warehouse management software has been implemented – including a testing phase and training for employees. The move will take place in several steps, with the start of actual operations scheduled for September 1, 2023.
Logistics performance further improved
The new logistics center has 76,000 storage locations. In the future, 40,000 spare parts will be immediately available from stock. Joachim Blache, Managing Director of Operations at Hako and responsible for the implementation of the construction project, looks positively to the future: “We are looking forward to further improving the performance of our logistics with a tailored warehouse management software, a location with good transport connections, and our highly motivated team.”
