ONOMOTION hands over logistics to pickshare and launches Summer Edition
1. July 2023The Swiss professional association for purchasing and supply management, procure.ch, the Higher Technical School for Foreign Trade, Logjob AG, and the Bachelor’s program in Digital Supply Chain Management at the University of Applied Sciences Graubünden today publish the study “Salary in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management 2023”.
(Aarau) With 1,229 participants, the study provides a detailed analysis of salary structures in Switzerland. The study offers a comprehensive overview of salaries, bonuses, and additional compensation in supply chain management, taking into account company sizes and regions. Special attention is given in this latest edition of the study to the area of foreign trade for the first time.
A career in supply chain management and purchasing remains an attractive choice. The average gross base salary of the participants is CHF 116,722 (with a median of CHF 112,000), while the average in purchasing functions is even CHF 117,453 (median CHF 115,000). Overall, the average base salary of the participants has increased by 4.8 percent compared to the last salary study in 2018.
The current study also reveals a continuing wage gap between men and women. Women earn an average of CHF 21,203 less. This has slightly narrowed compared to 2018 (CHF 22,350). Furthermore, they remain significantly underrepresented at higher hierarchical levels.
Benchmark for Employers and Employees
The study also highlights the perception of purchasing and supply chain management as a career springboard, the work environment, and the shortage of skilled workers, and shows the importance of education and further training for salary development. The results serve as a benchmark for employers and employees to review their compensation and remain attractive in the job market.
