Kaufland Implements Sustainability Goals with Partner Carriers
11. August 2023Top athletes speak at leading logistics service provider: The L.I.T. Group welcomed Hermann Schüller, Managing Director of EWE Baskets Oldenburg, and their head coach Pedro Calles on Thursday as part of a leadership meeting. The Brake logistics company has been the exclusive partner of the professional basketball team since last season.
(Brake/Oldenburg) The focus was on demonstrating how the Baskets have transformed their leadership culture and to what extent this process can be applied to the leadership levels in companies. Following the two keynotes by the EWE Baskets Managing Director and the head coach, a discussion round took place with around 25 participants from the L.I.T. Group.
“For us, it is particularly exciting to look beyond our own horizons at such opportunities and see how other successful companies define and live leadership and leadership culture,” says Simeon Breuer, Managing Director of L.I.T. Speditions GmbH and board member of L.I.T. AG. A total of around 25 people from the Brake location participated in the event, including members of the board, managing directors, as well as department and project managers. The event was realized as part of the exclusive partnership between L.I.T. and the basketball Bundesliga team.
Hermann Schüller, managing partner of EWE Baskets, gave a presentation on the topic of “value-oriented team culture.” In his talk, he discussed how the club’s leadership culture has changed over the past few years. It was discussed which values are important for the team and the company of EWE Baskets: “Trust,” “Positive Energy,” and “Respect” serve as the foundation for successful collaboration, according to Schüller. It is important in this context that every leader addresses each individual personally and considers their values. The managing director emphasizes: “Our motto is: ‘Teams in companies do not function well when the I comes before the WE.’ That is how we act.”
Leadership Culture in Top Sports
Head coach Pedro Calles reported on leadership culture in top sports. He particularly highlighted the balance between frequency and intensity as a success factor. He made it clear that long-term and sustainable success can only be achieved if the team’s performance remains high over a longer period. This can also be applied to companies that want to remain competitive in the market in the long term. After the discussion round, a final get-together was planned, where participants and guests could exchange views on various game scenes from the past season.
