Pharmalogistiker courierfactory celebrates 10th anniversary
20. September 2023This year’s largest typing campaign in the logistics industry is set to take place: As part of the Logistics Summit 2023 in Düsseldorf, Blood Transported will be present on October 11 and 12. The association, with roots in Osnabrück, aims to draw attention to the most important supply chain in the world: the human blood circulation.
(Osnabrück) “The Logistics Summit provides us with the perfect platform to raise awareness for our cause within the logistics industry,” explains Nicolas Gallenkamp, Chairman of Blood Transported e.V., who will represent the logistics initiative on-site with his team. More than 2,000 guests from the German-speaking region are expected to gather information on digital logistics trends and innovations from 150 exhibitors.
Right at the entrance to the event, the association invites visitors to its action area. There, attendees can learn more about entrepreneurial opportunities to combat diseases of the blood-forming system. “Even small actions in companies can save lives and effectively help against diseases of the blood-forming system,” emphasizes Gallenkamp.
The association is supported by the bone marrow donor center of the University Hospital Düsseldorf, which presents its initiative “Life Lolli.” With a heart-shaped lollipop combined with a cotton swab, the registration for a potential stem cell or bone marrow donation is made appealing.
For the event organizers, the cooperation is a matter of the heart, says Thomas Promny, Managing Director of Logistics Summit GmbH: “We have personally felt the problems a society faces when global supply chains are disrupted by a container ship, a virus, or climate change. But when it comes to one’s own health, the intact supply chain ‘blood’ is vital.” Therefore, further educational work in the logistics industry is essential.
General Assembly parallel to the event
Hendrik Kempfert, Director of Business Development at Logistics Summit GmbH, emphasizes the importance of this commitment and adds: “Leukemia is a devastating disruption of this supply chain for us. The only remedy against it is often donor cells from a genetic twin. We want to contribute to ensuring that as many people as possible diagnosed with blood cancer have a chance for healing.”
During the summit, the regular general assembly of Blood Transported will also take place. “This offers numerous opportunities for direct exchange and potential partnerships,” says the association. After all, the “supply chain of good deeds” should never be interrupted.
