Siegen-Wittgenstein District Needs Freight Transport on Rail
21. September 2023leogistics GmbH looks back on 15 successful years of continuous growth. Founded in 2008, the SAP solution provider is a globally operating provider of digital supply chain management solutions, with around 120 employees at four locations today. With innovative solutions and expertise in key technologies such as IoT, machine learning, and AI, leogistics is optimally positioned for the future. Reference customers include renowned companies from the consumer products, automotive, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, retail, and manufacturing industries.
(Hamburg) The software and consulting company leogistics is driving the digital transformation of logistics in core areas such as yard management, transport management, and warehouse management, as well as in the context of rail processes. Recently, leogistics presented its new software solution “leoPlan” for yard control. This allows for targeted optimization of transport orders on factory, plant, and production sites, including related processes in trailer and swap body management. leoPlan is an important step towards green logistics and CO2 reduction through optimal utilization of existing capacities. Another focus for this year includes the modernization of rail logistics. Here, the company is working on topics related to the digital trainmaster and the use of VR glasses for various operational rail processes.
The logistics of companies have changed dramatically in recent years. leogistics designs digitalization strategies for its customers and implements them using the latest technologies and improved processes. “Requirements in terms of collaboration, real-time data, and the direct integration of peripheral and sensor information (IoT) are the order of the day. Additionally, new technologies around machine learning and artificial intelligence offer entirely new possibilities for designing and digitizing logistics processes. Our goal is to define the most suitable and future-proof solution for the customer, reliably implement it, and operate it,” explains Christiaan Carstens, a member of the leogistics management team.
High-quality consulting
leogistics was founded in 2008 by André Käber with the aim of providing seamless, high-quality consulting in the field of SAP supply chain execution solutions. Soon, a shift to a holistic solution provider was made. This realignment required structural changes: in 2014, a merger with the Heidelberg consulting firm cbs Corporate Business Solutions took place, resulting in numerous synergies in the classic consulting business. As a result, leogistics continued to grow, successfully acquiring and completing numerous large projects, such as with the Volkswagen Group and Dräxlmaier Group.
Furthermore, the expansion of expertise in industry-specific logistics processes in the chemical industry and port logistics led to the acquisition of numerous projects in these segments. Recently, leogistics undertook another large project in the food industry, where the factory logistics of Migros Ostschweiz was digitized. This included freight cost accounting as well as the yard logistics for trucks and its own rail. Through the consulting of leogistics and the use of leogistics Yard, leogistics Rail, and leogistics Truck, Migros Ostschweiz can now plan, operate, and transparently monitor the entire processing on the same day – all mobile and completely paperless.
At the beginning of 2023, leogistics founded a new software company, leoquantum GmbH. This company, led by CEO André Käber, focuses on go-to-market strategies and the further development of the Process-as-a-Service platform myleo / dsc. leogistics is increasingly dedicated to consulting and service business to better support customers in their SAP S/4HANA transformation. With around 120 employees at four locations today, leogistics is well-positioned for the future. Operationally, leogistics continues to be led by Christiaan Carstens as a member of the management team.
Room for personal development
An important part of leogistics’ success is the modern work culture that allows for personal development and fosters collegiality. “Down-to-earthness, sustainability, and profound know-how combined with a lot of passion for logistics and innovation have been leogistics’ recipe for success for 15 years. Thanks to our employees, we will continue to find answers to every challenge and optimize every logistics process. Our goal is clear: to provide our customers with the most suitable solutions through consulting and to make our consulting experience tangible for our customers,” Carstens adds.
