Swisslog (a member of the KUKA Group) is pleased to announce Jens Schmale as the new CEO, who will take over the position on January 1, 2024. Schmale is currently the CEO of Swisslog EMEA and brings a wealth of experience in the logistics industry to his new role. He succeeds Antonio Trioschi, who has announced his upcoming retirement. Giulia Colombi will take over the leadership of the EMEA region.
(Buchs/AG) Jens Schmale (49) joined Swisslog in 2020 and was initially responsible for the AutoStore business unit before taking on the role of CEO of Swisslog EMEA in September 2021. Prior to his employment at Swisslog, he held various leadership positions at leading logistics providers.
The reason for the change at the top of Swisslog is the announcement by Antonio Trioschi, the current CEO of Swisslog, that he intends to retire at the end of the year. Antonio leaves behind a significant legacy of achievements. He was the driving force behind a transformation process that led to increased growth, improved financial performance, and new innovations at the customer level.
Building on the Successes of His Predecessor
KUKA CEO Peter Mohnen is confident that Jens will build on the successes of his predecessor. “I would like to express my deep appreciation to Antonio for his outstanding leadership and commitment. Under his leadership, Swisslog has achieved incredible things for its customers. Jens has already demonstrated his leadership skills as CEO of Swisslog EMEA and is well-equipped to build on this strong foundation and usher in a new chapter of success for Swisslog.”
As the new Chief Executive Officer of Swisslog, Jens will strategically focus on customer satisfaction and strengthening the company’s relationships with its customers and partners. “I look forward to leading Swisslog to new growth and seizing every opportunity to exceed our customers’ expectations,” said Jens. “My focus will also be on ensuring that Swisslog continues to live up to its reputation as a ‘great place to work.’ This requires fostering stronger collaboration, which ultimately leads to added value for our customers.”
Exploring New Markets
Giulia Colombi (38) will be the new CEO of Swisslog EMEA. Giulia has a broad range of experience across various business areas. Her focus is primarily on close collaboration with customers and exploring new markets. Giulia began her career at Swisslog as Market Segment Sales Manager. Subsequently, she took over the leadership of the ‘Design and Consulting’ team, which was recently transformed into the ‘Design and Engineering’ department under her leadership. Jens has complete confidence in Giulia as his successor. “Giulia will be an excellent leader of the Swisslog EMEA region. I am convinced that she will play a crucial role in the further growth and success of Swisslog in this region.”
