5. October 2023For the seventh consecutive time, Swiss Post has been named the best in the world, leading the ranking of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). The organization evaluates postal companies from a total of 172 countries each year. This year, Swiss Post achieved the highest score once again. For 175 years, it has focused on high-quality services and will continue to do so in the future. This award is a tribute to all employees – they are working day and night for the customers.
(Bern) Every year, Swiss Post sorts and distributes millions of packages and letters, provides digital services, and employs 47,000 staff members to serve the population. In everything it does, Swiss Post has focused on quality for 175 years. “The high quality standards and a demand-oriented offering are firmly embedded in our core business and our DNA. Naturally, they are also part of our strategy ‘Post of Tomorrow’,” says Roberto Cirillo, CEO of Swiss Post. For seven years, Swiss Post has been resilient against external conditions such as COVID-19 and the resulting increase in packages or supply chain difficulties. And for seven years, it has confirmed its status as the best post in the world – since the beginning of the UPU ranking. The UPU evaluates 172 postal companies each year based on established criteria and assesses them in ten categories. Today, the UPU published the latest results in its Integrated Index for Postal Development (2IPD). Swiss Post solidifies its top position again this year.
The high-quality services remain the distinguishing feature
Along with four other postal organizations, it is at the top of the highest category ‘Postal Excellence’. This year, Swiss Post impressed especially with the high quality of its offerings and their relevance to the population – even beyond national borders. With the current strategy ‘Post of Tomorrow’, Swiss Post is evolving into a company that will continue to meet the needs of people and businesses in the future. To this end, it invests in both its physical and digital products and adapts accordingly. Wherever the customer needs of today and tomorrow are.
“For me, it is clear that we must continuously change,” says Roberto Cirillo, adding: “But it is also clear that our high-quality services will always remain the distinguishing feature of Swiss Post.”
A Tribute to the Employees
However, the award is a tribute to the employees, emphasizes the Post CEO: “I would like to thank all employees. To those in delivery and sorting centers, as well as to colleagues from IT, technical, and management areas who work on the further development and modernization of our infrastructure. Just like to all other employees who serve our customers in over 100 different professions.”
