Oct 6, 2023 at 8:04 PMDHL Group has officially completed the acquisition of the Turkish parcel service provider MNG Kargo Yurtiçi ve Yurtdışı Taşımacılık A.Ş. (MNG Kargo) and its subsidiaries. Following the necessary approvals from the Turkish Competition Authority and the Turkish Authority for Information and Communication Technologies, MNG Kargo, one of the leading parcel companies in Turkey, is now officially part of the DHL family.
(Bonn/Istanbul) The integration of MNG Kargo will be managed by DHL eCommerce, the e-commerce logistics specialist of DHL Group. “MNG Kargo’s expertise in parcel courier services, combined with its extensive domestic network, will help us expand our service offerings in Turkey and further enhance our already strong cross-border parcel network. We welcome our new colleagues and look forward to jointly unlocking the e-commerce potential in the country and beyond,” said Pablo Ciano, CEO of DHL eCommerce.
Through the acquisition, customers of DHL Group will benefit from unique logistics offerings in Turkey and cross-border parcel shipping, thanks to the collaboration of various DHL sectors already operating in Turkey.
Perfect Complement to the European Network
For DHL eCommerce, the newly acquired parcel network, which includes 27 sorting centers for middle-mile transport and over 800 centers for last-mile delivery, is a perfect complement to the European parcel network and will therefore be part of this business unit. Driven mainly by a young, dynamic population with a high affinity for digital communication, the e-commerce market in Turkey is expected to see double-digit growth in the coming years – significantly higher than that of EU markets. Thanks to the network and digital expertise of DHL eCommerce combined with the local presence of MNG Kargo, DHL Group is ideally positioned to benefit from the enormous growth potential of the Turkish market.
