The ‘Last Mile’ or ‘The Last to Bite the Dogs’?
6. October 2023As the first user of the TMS provider Doll + Leiber, OCS Spedition from Stuhr will now rely on the private freight exchange of Trans.eu. The company from Northern Germany is thus part of the pioneering project aimed at increasing efficiency in the dispatch process through collaboration between the transport platform and the TMS provider.
(Mering/Berlin/Stuhr) OCS Spedition hopes that using the private freight exchange will provide more flexibility for individual customer solutions, reduce bureaucratic hurdles for collaboration with shippers and carriers, and create new business relationships in the Eastern European transport market.
“For us as a freight forwarder focusing on Eastern Europe, Trans.eu offers a great opportunity to tap into new potentials there due to its particularly strong networking in Poland and other Eastern European countries,” says Dennis Braun from the management of OCS.
At the same time, OCS aims to meet the growing importance of building large networks with its own subcontractors through this cooperation. Founded in 1989, the forwarding company relies on an advanced technological solution with Trans.eu, which has proven its competence across the entire European market for years. Through the transport platform, OCS now has access to a network of 25,000 verified carriers from Europe to Eurasia. Thanks to the cooperation between Trans.eu and Doll + Leiber, OCS can manage dispatching, price negotiations, and transport assignments directly from its own TMS.
The time and organizational effort for the assignment process can thus be massively reduced. Additionally, sources of error during order entry are significantly minimized, and real visibility and transparency are promoted through real-time data exchange. This is primarily intended to relieve the company’s own dispatchers, allowing them more room for individual customer care. This is a central aspect for OCS to differentiate itself from price-driven competitors and to increase its own profits.
“Through the cooperation with Trans.eu, we can offer our customers access to advanced additional features directly from the TMS. True digitalization accelerates the transport assignment process, while also enabling us and our customers to build our own transport network,” says Albert Doll, managing director of Doll + Leiber.
Unlocking Potential in the Transport Market
For Doll + Leiber and Trans.eu, the trust of OCS is a significant success for their recently launched cooperation. The TMS provider, which has specialized in comprehensive transport management solutions for small and medium-sized forwarding companies since its founding in 1996, thus offers a new interface to an innovative transport platform and enables its customers to achieve a significant increase in efficiency in the area of load assignment from the logistics module “Intertrans.” The partnership between OCS, Doll + Leiber, and Trans.eu can easily be described as a pioneering project, with which the three companies aim to jointly unlock new potentials in the transport market.
