24. October 2023TGW Logistics has completed the fiscal year 2022/2023 (July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023). Despite challenging conditions, the internationally active technology company – which plans, builds, and operates highly automated logistics centers – was able to increase its revenue to 955.8 million euros. The number of employees grew to 4,382.
(Marchtrenk) Reflecting on the past months, Chief Executive Officer Harald Schröpf emphasizes: “TGW Logistics’ revenue has grown by 3.5 percent to 955.8 million, and our order intake stands at around one billion euros. The massive cost increases in our international projects, as well as the fragile supply chains, have posed significant challenges for us, just as they have for many other companies.”
National and international companies from the fashion & textiles, food, and industrial and consumer goods sectors rely on the intralogistics expertise from Austria. In the fiscal year 2022/23, leading sports retailer INTERSPORT Austria, the number one in Swedish food retail ICA, and eFood specialist Picnic commissioned TGW Logistics to automate their processes.
Growth in Recent Years Has Slowed Processes
TGW Logistics has experienced strong growth in recent years, expanded its competencies, and risen to the top 10 of international intralogistics specialists. However, this growth has also slowed processes in some areas: Therefore, the technology company has launched a transformation program that will review structures, increase speed, and prepare the company for the future.
The budget for research and development has been increased by around 20 percent compared to the previous year to 47.7 million euros. The focus is particularly on robotics, artificial intelligence, and digitalization. In addition to a new structure in the research & development area, the technology company is also investing more heavily in strategic partnerships, for example with SAFELOG in the field of mobile robots.
TGW Logistics will expand its international headquarters in Marchtrenk starting in summer 2024 with office, production, and storage spaces. With an investment of 140 million euros in the final expansion, the intralogistics specialist is laying the foundation for growth in the coming years. The expansion is also a clear commitment to the location in Upper Austria – and to the continued successful development of TGW Logistics.

Harald Schröpf Resigns as CEO
Harald Schröpf will step down from his position as Chief Executive Officer of TGW Logistics in the calendar year 2024 at his own request. Until the handover to a yet-to-be-determined successor, he will remain fully responsible. Harald Schröpf emphasizes: “The decision was anything but easy for me – because TGW Logistics, our employees, and customers are very dear to me. At the same time, this step has been planned for some time. I informed our owner, the TGW Future Private Foundation, two years ago about my desire to open a new chapter in my life. The owner and I are convinced that this change will bring new dynamics and fresh impulses to consistently continue the successful development of the past years.” Under Harald Schröpf’s leadership, TGW Logistics’ revenue grew from 621 to 955 million euros, and the number of employees increased during the same period from 2,776 to over 4,400.
