Rhenus Group Upgrades Canal Tugs for the Future
Nov 2, 2023 at 6:46 PMThe MOSOLF Group, one of the leading system service providers in the automotive industry in Europe, is enhancing its import capacities with a new parking area in Cuxhaven. The site, which is leased from Cuxport GmbH, offers space for up to 4,500 vehicles, of which 3,500 parking spaces will be utilized by MOSOLF.
(Kirchheim/Teck; Cuxhaven) The operational activities at the Cuxhaven location will commence in November 2023 and mark another milestone in the development of the MOSOLF Group’s port network. Given the growing manufacturer market in Asia, Germany is increasingly becoming an import market for finished vehicles in the automotive industry. The new parking area in the rear port area of Cuxhaven will be available to two renowned automobile manufacturers to optimally meet their storage and distribution requirements. With the expansion of its location network, the MOSOLF Group offers its customers the usual quality standards in handling logistics processes in automotive transshipment now also at the mouth of the Elbe.
The location is multimodally connected to the European MOSOLF distribution network via road, rail, as well as short and deep-sea traffic as part of the Cuxhaven port area. There is direct access to the federal road and motorway network via the A27 to Bremen and the B73 to Hamburg. This traffic geographical location thus enables seamless and multimodal connections to trade routes for automotive imports across Europe.
Optimally Positioned for the Demands of the Import Market
“With the new branch and the accompanying additional parking capacities in the hinterland of the deep-sea port of Cuxhaven, we emphasize the continuous development of our port network as an important hub in international automotive logistics,” says Dr. Jörg Mosolf, Chairman of the Board of the MOSOLF Group. “We are thus optimally positioned to meet the increasing demands of the import market for finished vehicles,” Mosolf further states.
In addition to the proper interim storage of vehicles, all service offerings from the company’s portfolio can be carried out at the future location of the MOSOLF Group. These services include workshop services, the installation of additional equipment, as well as optical and technical preparations.
Cuxport Welcomes the Establishment
“With the MOSOLF Group, we welcome a leading company in automotive logistics to the site. Thanks to the favorable location between Central Europe, Great Britain, and Northern Europe, we are excellently positioned in Cuxhaven to meet the increasing demand and growing volumes from Asia and other global markets,” explains Claudius Schumacher, Managing Director of Cuxport GmbH.
