Fleet Intelligence Platforms Bring Cost Advantages
Nov 3, 2023 at 8:13 PMEUROGATE Intermodal (EGIM), a Hamburg-based provider of intermodal transport for sea containers, and driveMybox, a digital platform for container trucking, are entering into a strategic partnership. The goal is to further digitalize truck traffic in Germany. As part of this collaboration, the new company driveMybox logistics has been established today as an independent firm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of EGIM.
(Hamburg) With driveMybox logistics, EGIM offers an innovative service for truck transports, where supply and demand can be easily and efficiently managed online through smart market networking. The focus is initially on combined transport and long-distance traffic within Germany. The new company utilizes the digital technology of the existing driveMybox platform and combines it with EGIM’s extensive expertise in intermodal container transport. Christopher Beplat, Managing Director of EGIM, also leads driveMybox logistics in dual capacity and is supported by the EGIM team as well as the management of the original driveMybox platform, which continues under the existing management. The driveMybox platform focuses on further technical development and global expansion. However, operational business in Germany will now be conducted exclusively through driveMybox logistics.
For EGIM, the establishment of driveMybox logistics is the next step in further expanding its portfolio of digital logistics products. Following the successful launch of EGIM’s digital solution for rail freight transport called railMybox in 2022, EGIM can now increasingly integrate its rail and truck services with driveMybox logistics. Customers will thus receive comprehensive digital solutions for intermodal transport. Furthermore, EGIM leverages its close and long-standing relationships with transport companies to expand the network of trusted driveMybox transport companies in Germany.
“EGIM has decades of experience in intermodal transport solutions. We continuously develop our business to provide the best possible service in the future,” explains Beplat. “Expanding our digital logistics portfolio to include truck traffic was the next logical step for our company. The management teams of EGIM and driveMybox are convinced that by establishing driveMybox logistics, we can combine our strengths to best digitalize truck traffic in Germany and create added value along the supply chain.”
Activities Newly Divided into Two Areas
Gordon Friza, Co-Founder and CFO of the driveMybox platform, adds: “With the establishment of the new company, we are splitting the driveMybox activities into two areas. The focus of the driveMybox platform business is on the technical development of digital solutions and global expansion. The new company driveMybox logistics, on the other hand, is well-positioned to operationally advance digital truck traffic in Germany. With the support of EGIM, driveMybox logistics is excellently equipped to acquire transport volumes, foster strong collaborations with transport companies, and provide significant added value to customers in the German market.”
