DEKRA Road Safety Report on Emergency Braking Assistants
9. November 2023Spedination GmbH is further expanding its presence in Germany. The hybrid logistics company, headquartered in Langkampfen, Tyrol, has now opened a new branch in the Franconian city of Aschaffenburg. With the existing representation in Kiefersfelden, Spedination now has two locations in Germany. Additionally, the company has been included in the “Top 500” list of the highest-grossing companies in Tyrol.
(Langkampfen/Aschaffenburg) Since our founding three years ago, we have been pursuing a clear growth strategy. With the opening of our new branch in Aschaffenburg, we have come significantly closer to our goal of being represented throughout Germany,” says Thomas Kogler, owner and managing director of Spedination GmbH. With the two locations, the southern and western parts of the Federal Republic will now be covered. The next step is an expansion to the east. The new branch in Aschaffenburg is located in the heart of the city near the main train station and initially consists of three employees. In the long term, the number of employees at the location is to be increased to 20. The head of the new branch is Mike Oettmeier, who already has many years of experience in the transport industry and was most recently a group leader at a Danish logistics company. “Spedination is a young company with great potential. I am excited and proud to be a part of it now,” explains Oettmeier.
Spedination GmbH was founded in 2020. The company provides logistics services in close collaboration with independent transport companies. As a hybrid logistics provider, Spedination combines a modern IT infrastructure with a high level of personal support. With this business model, it was possible to generate a revenue in the double-digit millions in the first year of operation. The company has even managed to be included in the “Top 500” list of the highest-grossing companies in Tyrol. Owner and managing director Thomas Kogler sees this as a clear confirmation of the path taken: “We wanted to expand the market for transport services with a contemporary variant. We have succeeded in this and it encourages us to continue on this path,” he explains.
Long-term Plans for a Europe-wide Network
With the opening of the branch in Aschaffenburg, Spedination now has four locations in addition to its headquarters. In addition to the two branches in Germany, the company is already represented with offices in Poland and in the Zillertal valley in Tyrol. In the long term, a Europe-wide network of branches is planned. Those who want to participate in the further expansion of the hybrid logistics company in a responsible position are offered not only employment as an employee but also a kind of franchise model. In this model, the head of a branch acts as an independent entrepreneur on-site, while the headquarters takes care of administration and provides the IT infrastructure. The branch in the Zillertal is currently operated under this model.
