VTL Annual Meeting Focused on the Theme: “All about Strategy”
23. November 2023Since its founding one year ago on November 21, 2022, Blood Transported e.V. has made significant progress in the fight against blood diseases. “The association has successfully established nationwide partnerships with logistical relevance and carried out effective activities with the help of the network,” says Chairman Nicolas Gallenkamp with joy. Among these were significant registration campaigns, such as the recent one at a home game of Borussia Dortmund.
(Osnabrück) The dedicated team of the logistics initiative is committed to strengthening social responsibility and raising awareness of the life-saving importance of their actions. A registration for a potential bone marrow or stem cell donation takes only a few minutes and is done through a simple cheek swab.
Oktay Demirel from the University Hospital Düsseldorf, whose team supports numerous actions of the Blood Transported partner network, emphasizes: “Once typed, always typed! If you are registered with a donor database, you remain in the database until you turn 60.”
Federal Minister of Transport Wissing as Patron
In May 2023, Federal Minister of Transport Volker Wissing was won over as the patron of the initiative. His support has significantly increased the visibility of Blood Transported and opened up new development opportunities and networks. Participation in trade events such as transport logistic in Munich, the Logistics Summit in Düsseldorf, and the German Logistics Congress in Berlin led to further significant partnerships with renowned logistics service providers. To make the mission of the association more tangible, a touching and informative image film was created.
A particularly pleasing piece of news for the association members and the project team was the award of the LEO Award to founder and chairman Nicolas Gallenkamp. This prestigious award recognizes his extraordinary commitment and his ability to create a connection between business success and social engagement.
In addition to leading the logistics company NOSTA Group, Gallenkamp founded the initiative “Blood Transported” three years ago. He emphasizes: “Business is more than just profit and return – it is a driver of social change. A transparent symbiosis of economic stability and social engagement promotes resilience and support in our community. And it sustainably influences our daily actions, even if it often happens in the background. Our aim is to inspire companies to join this significant symbiosis and make a statement together.”
