BLV-pro with a large truck rally on January 18, 2024
6. January 2024
Peter Leschly appointed Head of Freight Sales at Scandlines
9. January 2024From January 8 to 12, 2024, an action week will take place across Germany, where agriculture and the transport industry will demonstrate together. Farmers, the transport industry, freight forwarders, and truck drivers will express their dissatisfaction with the federal government’s budget plans through demonstrations, convoys, or rallies starting January 8 nationwide.
(Frankfurt) Over 100 actions will take place nationwide in all federal states to warn the public and politics against jeopardizing the competitiveness and existence of farmers and medium-sized transport companies. For a competitive agriculture, the promotion of agricultural diesel and the exemption from vehicle tax are essential. Therefore, the German Farmers’ Association, together with the state farmers’ associations and LsV Germany, demands that the planned tax increases for agriculture by the federal government be withdrawn.
The Federal Association of Goods Transport, Logistics and Waste Disposal (BGL) e.V. demands compliance with the coalition’s commitment to avoid double CO2 pricing for toll plus diesel, a doubling of the toll harmonization programs to 900 million euros, as well as more money for intact roads and bridges, truck parking spaces, and reliable funding programs for climate-friendly road freight transport.
Large Rally on January 15, 2024, starting at 11:30 AM in Berlin
The DBV and the BGL stand for a clear, but peaceful and democratic protest. Therefore, both associations call on their member companies to demonstrate peacefully and only participate in registered and approved protest actions. A selection of properly registered and approved actions, demonstrations, and rallies between January 8 and 12 can be found here:
