Combined Transport Transports 15.9% Fewer Units in 2023
25. February 2024The Primafrio Group, an international logistics service provider and European market leader in temperature-controlled road transport of fruit and vegetable products, has expanded its fleet with 200 S.KO COOL refrigerated semi-trailers from Schmitz Cargobull. The latest generation of refrigerated trailers is equipped with the S.CU d80 transport refrigeration unit and the Trailer Telematics TrailerConnect® from Schmitz Cargobull.
(Horstmar/Alhama de Murcia) “This acquisition represents an important milestone for our company, as we are using the innovative vehicles from Schmitz Cargobull for the first time, thereby solidifying our commitment to excellent logistics and impeccable service for our customers. The good reputation of Schmitz Cargobull gives us unwavering confidence in the quality and efficiency of the semi-trailers,” said José Esteban Conesa, President of Primafrio.
Andreas Schmitz, CEO of Schmitz Cargobull, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration during his visit to the Primafrio Group headquarters: “We are pleased to work with a leading company like Primafrio. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to excellence and innovation in refrigerated transport. We are excited about the path we have embarked on together, and we are confident that this partnership will be fruitful for both sides.”
Solar panel ensures constant energy supply for the refrigeration unit
The 200 S.KO COOL refrigerated semi-trailers feature a galvanized chassis, for which Schmitz Cargobull offers a 10-year warranty against corrosion. To achieve optimal cooling performance, the trailers are equipped with the powerful S.CU d80 transport refrigeration unit. This unit is characterized by low noise emissions and an emissions-optimized engine. A solar panel on the roof of the refrigeration unit protects the battery from deep discharge and ensures a constant energy supply.
The vehicles are equipped with additional features such as a digital temperature recorder, the new air distribution system, and a full-service package that includes maintenance, wear repairs, and breakdown assistance.
For efficient, sustainable fleet and temperature management, Primafrio relies on the Trailer Telematics TrailerConnect®. This enables real-time monitoring of important parameters such as temperature, tire pressure, vehicle location, etc. This provides the operator with better oversight and control over their vehicles and cargo. This also aligns with the Primafrio Group’s commitment to providing the highest quality standards and ensuring the delivery of all types of goods under optimal conditions.
In financing the new S.KO COOL refrigerated semi-trailers, Primafrio opted for a leasing model from Cargobull Finance, which offers greater financial flexibility.
Commitment to sustainability and innovation
The Primafrio Group has been working for years to reduce the impact of its activities on the environment through an action program aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the company’s key commitments is to be sustainable and to adhere to the highest standards for the care and protection of the environment in which it operates. The company is a leader and sets benchmarks in the industry by establishing clear plans for current and future challenges. For this reason, various lines of action have been implemented with the aim of providing services that promote the development of a circular economy, the use of more efficient energy sources, the decarbonization of the logistics and transport sector, and the neutralization of emissions.
