Apr 9, 2024 at 7:02 PMRental vehicles are a low-risk way to quickly reduce CO2 emissions. The TIP Group continues to provide electric vehicles at attractive rental conditions and delivers the service directly. The pressure on transport companies is increasing. Politics, society, and investors are demanding the implementation of low-emission measures to make the entire transport chain more sustainable.
(Hamburg) Measurable successes can be achieved most quickly through the use of alternatively powered vehicles, but the investment costs are a significant burden for companies. Electric commercial vehicles are not a novelty and are already in use in many businesses. However, with the absence of new funding opportunities for these vehicles and the ongoing cost pressure in road freight transport, the mobility transition is a real challenge for the industry.
Secure funding with rental vehicles
We were able to secure funding for around 100 fully electric tractor units and distribution vehicles in the last funding window. Many of the emission-free vehicles are already in the hands of customers and are fulfilling their daily transport tasks.
“We are seeing an increasing interest in alternative drives for heavy commercial vehicles and are expanding this segment in our rental fleet. As a leading company, we see it as our responsibility to actively support the implementation of sustainable supply chains and to make emission-free vehicles available to a broad audience,” says Oliver Bange, Vice President of the Central Region at TIP Group.
Maintaining the balance between sustainability and the economic significance of transport is a complex challenge. Freight carriers need solutions that provide them with planning security while minimizing fleet costs and investment risks. Especially rental concepts are gaining further importance here, as they offer the possibility to use emission-free vehicles without making their own investments. We have new electric trucks available, including distribution vehicles with tarpaulin and box bodies. The new vehicles are part of the subsidy package and are offered by us at competitive rental conditions.
Long-term use with savings potential
Due to legal requirements, the minimum rental contract duration for subsidized electric vehicles is 48 months. The trucks become particularly profitable when they are in use for a longer period. With increasing rental duration, the monthly burdens decrease significantly. Our rental customers benefit not only from attractive rental rates but also receive a complete service package that can include coverage in case of damage as well as maintenance and repair work. The customer individually decides on the scope of services.
