30 Years of Partnership Between Gebrüder Weiss and Rail Cargo
6. May 2024At the VNL Switzerland Logistics Forum on June 6, 2024, in Lucerne, experts from business and science, education, research, and technology will come together to exchange ideas, contribute their interdisciplinary perspectives, and collaboratively find sustainable solutions.
(Zurich/Lucerne) In today’s dynamic and complex environment, successfully navigating and making the right decisions requires more than ever the exchange between specialists and executives from purchasing, logistics, and SCM regarding recent developments, best practices, and promising solutions.
Theme: Changing Work Environments – How Technologies and Sustainability are Transforming Logistics and SCM
What do artificial intelligence and human rights have to do with it? Professor Peter Kirschschläger, a recognized expert in this field, who is a professor of Theological Ethics and head of the Institute for Social Ethics ISE at the University of Lucerne and a visiting professor at the Chair of Neuroinformatics and Neural Systems at ETH Zurich, will provide insights into this tension in his keynote.
The future development of autonomous freight transport will also play an important role. Martin Neubauer, Managing Director of the Swiss Society for Autonomous Mobility (SAAM), will take us into the world of autonomous driving and the upcoming transition to the autonomy of freight transport.
In six breakout sessions, the impacts on SCM, warehousing and transport systems, construction logistics, training and education, and purchasing will be discussed. Together with our co-organizers, the Logistikum Switzerland, the Association for Intralogistics (ILS), the Swiss Association for Vocational Education in Logistics – ASFL/SVBL, and the Professional Association for Purchasing and Supply Management procure.ch, a diverse panorama and perspectives have emerged.
