39. Logistics Dialogue in Vienna under the Motto: [Re]Design Today
17. May 2024Logistics properties do not emerge overnight, but rather hand in hand – in a trusting collaboration with the political representatives of cities, municipalities, and states. To ensure a successful cooperation, Panattoni proactively seeks contact with decision-makers. At the annual meeting of the “Network of Young Mayors, taking place on May 15 and 16 at the Environmental Forum Friedrichshain in Berlin, the project developer will be represented with its own booth.
(Hamburg/Berlin) With more than 200 young mayors and guests from across Germany, the fifth major annual conference of the network promises to be an important platform for exchanging ideas and best practices in the municipal sector. For the third time since 2022, Panattoni will showcase its presence and will deeply engage in numerous discussions and expert panels on current municipal topics.
“The annual meeting is an excellent opportunity for us to listen to the concerns and challenges of young mayors,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni Germany and Austria. “We place great value on a trusting collaboration with the cities and municipalities where we realize our projects. Cooperation on equal footing means finding future-proof solutions for the specific requirements of each region. We have always acted according to our credo: ‘International vision, local focus’ and do everything that goes with it.”
Panattoni knows: The logistics industry is an important backbone for industry and society – accordingly, the demand for strategically located sites for storage, transshipment, and distribution is high. Logistics properties also offer many advantages for municipalities and their surroundings. These include strengthening the region as a business location, creating jobs, and promoting infrastructure. Where logistics centers are established, there is often a pull effect on other companies in the production and trade sectors. This not only leads to additional trade tax revenues but often also has positive impacts on infrastructure. Nevertheless, there are reservations among those responsible in municipalities and cities as well as in the general population. “To avoid fears and misunderstandings, it is important for us to involve all parties early in the planning process,” says Fred-Markus Bohne. “After all, both the municipality and the project developer pursue the same goal: securing the future of the region.”
Cooperative Collaboration Creates Win-Win Situation
Through the cooperative collaboration of all parties involved, a win-win situation arises. New concepts and developments benefit not only the economy and infrastructure but also the local people. An example of this is the sustainable revitalization of unused, often contaminated industrial wastelands, so-called brownfields, which not only creates jobs but also benefits the environment.
Interested parties can inquire about the opportunities for economic growth through industrial and logistics properties at the Panattoni booth at the upcoming networking meeting on May 15 and 16 in Berlin or at the Real Estate Arena taking place from June 5 to 6 in Hanover.
