Combined Transport and MBOX Terminals Cooperate in Niš
25. May 2024The German Federal Office for Logistics and Mobility (BALM) reminds: From July 1, 2024, vehicles with a technically permissible total weight (tzGm) of more than 3.5 tons will be subject to tolls. To conveniently pay the toll for these vehicles, a toll device (OBU) is recommended, which reliably and automatically collects the toll.
(Köln) In order for an OBU to be provided before July 1, 2024, vehicle owners must now apply for an OBU. Otherwise, the toll must be paid manually before the trip via the Toll-Collect website or the Toll-Collect app. Compared to automatic collection with an OBU, this is particularly cumbersome, especially with a high number of trips.
If the toll for vehicles subject to tolls over 3.5 tons tzGm is not paid starting July 1, 2024, the unpaid toll will be collected retroactively, and the violation will be treated as an administrative offense. Vehicle owners should therefore obtain an OBU as early as possible. Otherwise, it cannot be guaranteed that it can be installed in the vehicle before July 1, 2024. Currently, the demand for OBUs for vehicles over 3.5 tons tzGm is still low.
Diverse Providers of OBUs
OBUs are provided by Toll Collect, the providers of the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS providers), or their distribution partners. Vehicles from craft businesses are exempt from tolls under certain conditions.
