DACHSER Service and Training GmbH Celebrates 10 Years
11. June 2024GUD Filters, a leading brand for automotive filters in South Africa since 1949, optimizes its warehouse operations with ZetesMedea Full Pallet Inventory. This innovative solution leverages the advantages of machine vision technology to optimize inventory levels and enhance efficiency in distribution centers.
(Wien/Johannesburg) In the pursuit of operational excellence, GUD Filters was looking for a solution to optimize its inventory management processes. The challenge of accurately maintaining inventory levels amidst the distribution of a diverse product range prompted the company to seek a solution that could enhance efficiency without compromising customer service. For this reason, a more advanced approach was introduced to avoid the drawbacks of constant and labor-intensive inventory counts. “The semi-annual downtime for precise inventories clearly showed that a change was imperative to improve the efficiency of our operations and the delivery of our services. The challenge was to find a solution that would allow us to maximize our space in the narrow aisles,” says James Naidoo, Head of IT at GUD Filters.
Innovation and Efficiency
To address these challenges, GUD Filters opted for the implementation of ZetesMedea. The solution involves installing an ImageID station on a forklift. This captures data and automates the counting of pallet inventories, enabling fast and accurate data collection. “Our decision for ZetesMedea was based on Zetes’ track record, the robustness of its technology, and our shared commitment to operational excellence,” adds Naidoo.
